This is what happened when I made a Backtrack 4 Beta liveUSB key using the linux version of unetbootin. In order to avoid this, you should install it the way you would install BT3. mount -o loop /path/to/bt4.iso /mnt/iso cp -r /mnt/iso/* /mnt/mounted_usb_key cd /mnt/mounted_usb_key/boot ./bootinst.sh
