USPS… Almost accurate

asus eee

Status: Delivered Abroad
Your item was delivered in SPAIN at 11:04 AM on March 12, 2008.

After their lie at least this time they’ve been almost accurate.

Look at the time and date shown both at the USPS Track & Confirm report and the photograpy that my father sent me taken with his HTC Touch using Vodafone’s 3g connection.

I cant wait to get back home tomorrow!

Asus Eee arrived!

My father just emailed me saying that he got a letter from Correos. He had to pay 40€ for the customs but now he has it! I can’t wait to arrive home on Friday and get my hands on it.

I’ll probably shoot unboxing, review and comparative videos and I’ll try to make them different from all the ones out there so stay tunned and subscribe to the feed!

Spanish Democracy aka Grand theft laptop

Yeah I know the title may sound a bit viral but anyway… You’ve probably already read whats going on with my Asus Eee in my previous posts, well i think i have some answers for the big delay…

Democracy stole my Asus Eee.

Lets start from the beginning…

The 9th of March was National Election Day in Spain, we got a participation record this year and Zapatero (PSOE) got in the government for another 4 years.

What does this all have to do with my laptop? The answer is simple: Mail Votes.

Mail Votes must have been the main postal priority these days so most of the packages should be stored somewhere waiting to be shipped.

I know im being very positive with this thoughts but the postwoman told me this the other day and i’ve just read a post from a spanish guy in a forum that has had bigger delays with some packages these days because of the elecions.

It could still be in the customs office but since I got no mail telling me how much would I have to pay i still have a little hope that it will arrive during this week.

I’ve got the telephone numbers of the customs offices here and I’m planning to call if nothing changes in a couple of days.

I’ll keep you guys updated and I hope this helps you decide in the future whether to buy your Asus eeepc online or wait for it to arrive your country’s market.

USPS track & confirm you are a liar!

After reading some forums at eBay I can now tell that my Asus eee is in the customs office here in Spain. The status at Correos has been “en tramitación” since the 26th of February, so I must wait for a letter to arrive in my mailbox telling me that I have to pay 16% IVA and a handling fee.

It’s not about the money but about the fact that some of my friends got their eee in less than 10 days and I’ve been waiting for it for almost a month now and im sure it wont arrive soon.

USPS track & confirm said that they tried to deliver it to me te 4th of this month and they lied.

Who should I trust? Where is my bloody laptop?

you tell me…
