Robert from ASUS demos the Eee Pad Transformer 700 at the ASUS CES 2012 Showcase. Otherwise exactly the same spec-wise to the Transformer Prime, the Transformer 700 features a full HD 1920×1200 resolution display, an upgraded 2MP front-facing camera, and a plastic strip on the backing to allow for increased wireless signal. The Transformer 700 is expected to be on sale in a few months for a small price premium over the existing Transformer Prime.
oh and btw fail again….1 speaker
theres always that one thing manufacturers get wrong
but alas I’m poor and shall settle for the Memo 370T lol
Asus couldnt get a hold of the 2048×1536 res screens like apple? ehh imho the “retina” moniker is overhyped anyways….maybe not on cellphones but on tablets it is…. i cant wait to see HD SuperAMOLED+ screens like the galaxy tab 7.7
No WHDI no tablet! Asus fail again!
i dont need this i need tf201 but with blastic back :S why i need 1080P on 10 inch screen ? for extra 100$ at less
these guys have shot themselves in the foot the ipad3 is about to release they should of taken advantage now that they have the lions share of market interest with the quad core. After Apple releases it will be too late to make a huge impact.. its a shame because i really was going to buy the prime till i heard of the update and the wifi problem. if the 700 series was out now as an android man i would not buy the ipad3 but it seems i have little choice.
do we have a release date ? i wanna get a prime but if this is out and i m still looking for a tablet (actually i ‘ve decided on the prime) i might as well consider it.. thing is .. i ll be saving for it for 2 months or so.. so i ‘d like to know when this ‘ll be released to know if i could save less each month and spread it to 3 months per se..
I am glad I waited a few hours to order my Prime on december 19th. I wasnt supposed to get it until late this month, but I cancelled my orders for the prime and the keyboard dock about a week ago and will gladly wait for this to be released. I don’t see why they have to wait until Q2 though. It’s a shame.
Sellout.
I’ve been trolled…by Asus. God damnit! (I preordered a Prime and it came in last week).
Do you know when Australia will get these? and price?
The back makes it looks like a cheaper model, rather than a premium one…
thanks for saying the other Prime has good connectivity. Though the wifi/bt dont work together and the GPS doesnt work at all. Oh an wifi has a severe problem. It only work in a range of 10 or 20 feet. Thanks for this blatantly obvious lie.
Is this one getting a proper test period? Was so hyped for the prime, and 2 weeks out and i am so happy i waited for the early user reviews. Its an epic fail.
I doubt i will ever buy an asus tablet, cause for 600 euro there are better ways to get fucked.
@lmrojas1990 not trying to start an argument, but the iPad is 90% aluminum on the back too. Now, is it that Apple is too good that others try SO HARD not to copy them? ^_^ That was a rhetorical question.
Thanks for not fixing my primes connectivity issues. Thank you for releasing a revised version and screwing me out of my 500$
@chrisdobson the metal backing screwed up the gps signal so it was a major design flaw, they had to put plastic there
I’m glad that I held out and didn’t actually make a purchase…seeing this though makes me want to wait even longer before getting a tablet. I mean, my phone is basically one anyway (Galaxy Nexus), but I want something that’s full size. I’m beginning to feel that my waiting will never end since I don’t want to get ripped off.
@DTS1300 More than likely it was planned to have both screens on the same device from the conception of the device. It was more than likely a problem with getting all the screens in the first place.
As for the Q.Q regretting the purchase etc. HTFU. Wait for a product the suits you rather than rushing out and buying every version of it.
@Zwank36 I meant in the way that they could have included this HD screen in the original prime and had the plastic strip on the back. If they debuted it today then they probably knew about it the problem last month. Now they are going to make it more expensive and people who bought the first one are going to feel that regret cause the 2nd is better. Gadget whore or not I think these could have been on the original prime for the price point.
@DTS1300 lol what? This has been the way of computers for the last 20 YEARS.
HTFU it’s the way of the gadget whore.
Still no stereo speakers!!!!!!!!!
:(:( that may be a deal breaker for me
however the rest of it is absolutely perfect (except the price point, way too high!)
@3389MATT I’m with you man. Bit ASUS fan but this is upsetting. Kinda feel they are going the route of apple. Put out something good then put out something better 6 months later.
@asusrog Fantastic! Would be nice to see ASUS work with Wacom.com to make a Transformer that is designed for art students for drawing and design work. Most needed: Improve response times within the OS for apps like auto-desk sketchbook pro and Adobe Photoshop and to provide a stylus that’s designed for detailed art work on the Transformer tablet exclusively. Finally, highly suggest marketing it with the Wacom band name as they are the leader in that customer market.
Just an Idea
Its a nice idea but sadly doesnt look the part.. why are all laptops so poorly designed :L
