My asus 701 is a great companion. Does the job very good. I’m Asian and have a relatively small fingers and I find typing on the keyboard of my EEE easier than the regular-sized keyboard.
I love my new Asus! The Uk men sound so sexy LOL
Oh & do not get me wrong I am not talking about the(Asus eee PC)in a bad way,I am just talking in the signs of the times where here in the USA the economy is really bad & I simply wanted to help all of the people that want this,but cannot offord it & I have upgraded a lot of these old laptops & I have put xp & puppy linux(or)PCLinuxOS 2007 &people could not believe the speed of the old laptop & I created a ram drive so I could put the some software inside a ram drive so that it could work faster
the (Asus eee PC) because you can do the same thing even more with just an older laptop for cheaper & older laptops also tend to be small also if you pick the right ones, oh & I also upgraded the old battery & purchased a new one, which worked out wonderful,plus that O.S that comes with the(Asus eee PC) is super lame, but great for somebody like my parents because it cannot get any simpler than that,hello they straight Dumbed downed that frontend to that distro,here is a clue people(PUPPY LINUX)
everyone that I am not going to pay $499.00 for that cheap sony black & white screen that cannot do anything else but play mp3′s,when I can take $50.00 to $100.00 & by a older laptop & just add a bigger drive and more memory that I purchased from ebay & now I have a huge drive inthis old pc & more ram & I even added a dual boot with xp pro & puppy linux & I also purchased a wifi card & now it is web inabled,I can watch movies on it,I can listen to music & I have a gps program in it. so why buy
This laptop I have been seeing it around online for sometime, but I know I am reaching, but I basicly wanted a cheap way to go online and to read my ebooks online & maybe ad gps capability & a way to surf the internet when I go out or while parked in my car on my work break. I saw the sony ebook reader & I laughed because people were actually buying this expensive crap & the thing had a black and white screen & you could only bubuy I think there (drm/locked) books & thats it. yea, your right. I’m doing that tonight actually, since i am installing a touch screen.
I would put xp or ubuntu on it because the distro of linux that has is very weak.
