I have one of these. Pretty good little package. Ran a little sluggish at first install but adding a gig of ram and uninstalling all the gimmick bloatware made it pretty good for a eee. I have it almost permanently in tablet mode without the keyboard in use.

I’ll try to answer a few of your Qs…

The on screen keyboard is ok although it’s missing F1, F2, ect. It is re-sizable and always on top, so it doesn’t disappear. It can be accessed by a small tab pinned to the side of the screen – I have it at thumb position of the hand holding the pad. Works well.

There are some Firefox extensions available which will improve the touch and zoom support when web browsing.

Hand writing recognition works surprising well, even with my chick scratch. The input box is quite intuitive and a viable option instead of the on-screen keyboard. Bundled Journal software is good and includes convert to text and pressure sensitivity. Decent for art also.

Video runs flawlessly in full screen, however with r-click menus open there is some chop (VLC).

Palm suppression for all intensive purposes is non-existent.

If you search “Window color and metrics” you can open up the windows color and appearance menu to change things like active title bar size (making it easier to press the close button and such)

@MikeDrevious I can’t believe I did’nt think of trying that before… /duh I’ll have to make a custom profile/theme for the tablet and post it up when I get a chance.

I tried this the other day, I made the title bar like 5 pixels bigger and the scroll bars as well and now it’s spot on and looks just about the same.

This is what the iPad should have been, a full powered desktop OS in a tablet format. However instead they give us just a large iPod. Now don’t get me wrong, they can now make special tablet applications for the iPad only now, and it will have potiential then, but it’s like unneccessarily limiting themselves.

Yes you can use the stylus to write using MS Journal viewer, MS word, or if you just like pen input you can select pen input instead of the onscreen keyboard to input text and data.
